Living In A Single In Whitney Hall

There are many different options when looking at rooms for Whitney Hall. There are four different options when choosing what lifestyle you want to have.

The first option is a single room. These are the most expensive options, and also come few and far between. This is an option for people who like to live by themselves and have their own schedule. Like I said this is the most expensive option, so if you have the money and want to have your own schedule but not have to worry about a roommate, this is the room choice for you. The most common people with singles are RAs, or resident advisors, who work at the dorms. People with disabilities or who need special accommodations also live in singles. For example people with a sleep apnea machine need to have their own because it makes a lot of noise and can make it hard for others to live with them. This is mostly an option for people who either like to have their own space and schedule, or have a certain condition making it hard for them to live with others. The price for a single room in Whitney is about $9,460 annually. This however does not include the meal plan that goes with this. A meal plan that goes with the singles is about $3,520 annually. So on average a student for housing in a single can pay about $12,980 annually. Like I said in the beginning, this is definitely the most expensive option when choosing where you plan on living on campus at Whitney Hall. Some pros to living in a single include having your own space, decide how the room looks by yourself, not having to worry about anyone distrubing your sleep, and you have your own schedule. Some cons include you are always alone and could be antisocial, could be harder to make friends, and it’s the most expensive option.
