When living in Whitney Hall there are four options to choose from. In the last blog post I went over the single option, and how much it costs, pros, and cons. The next option is the doubles. This is a little bigger of a room and you have one roommate, so it is a little difficult if you enjoy having your own things and having your own schedule. This is a great middle option for many people who want to cut some of the cost and also have a good starter friend. Many people come to school not knowing anyone, and having a roommate can usually give you at least someone to talk to. This is a good option for many, and there are a bunch of doubles in Whitney, so there is a good chance you will get this option if this is what you want. The price for the doubles is about $7,810 annually for the room. This does not include the meal plan though that will cost you the same as all the other prices, it just depends on the type of meal plan you get. The most common one will cost you about $3,520 annually. This is the middle cost where it is not too much like the double, but also not the cheapest option out there. If you are looking to cut costs this may not be your best bet. The final total comes out to be about $11,330 annually to live in a double in Whitney Hall. Some pros to living in a double include having at least someone to talk to, cheaper payments, and you can meet new people through your roommate. Some cons include having to work with another person’s schedule, not always having your own space or alone time, and you may not get along with your roommate.
